Your Support Makes All The Difference
Join our senior educational instructor to conduct a BioBlitz survey at High Elms Country Park. Explore all habitats including the meadow, pond and woodlands and help us record the findings.
There will be talks and walks at set times during the day:
11:00-11:30 moth trap opening
11:30-12:00 bird walk
12:00-12:30 butterfly walk
13:00-13:30 lichen walk
13:30-14:00 amphibian talk
14:00-14:30 bat box talk
14:30-15:00 flower walk
15;00-15:30 round up of all species seen and highlights of the day.
Throughout the day there will be Pond Dipping sessions, Sweep Netting sessions, Flower Walks, Bird Walk with East Kent Wildlife Group, Bat Box checks, Bird Box checks, Moth Trap Identification session and much more. There will also be eco craft activities such as Bug Hotel Building and make your own Seed Bombs.
Activities are suitable for all ages, and open to families, individuals, professionals and hobbyists.
All activities are drop in sessions and don’t need to be booked. Eco Craft Activities are £2 and can be paid for at the Centre on arrival or booked online in advance, just check in on arrival.
