Bromley’s Environmental Education Centre at High Elms (BEECHE) is a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can pursue their interests in Science, Nature, Art, Philosophy, Literature and Music in an awe inspiring landscape of woodlands, grasslands and ponds.

Drawing on our rich heritage as part of the Lubbock estate, where Charles Darwin spent many years developing his theories we take a “Head, Hearts & Hands” approach to our educational activities.

We offer a wide range of programmes delivered in single 2 hour (half day) or double 2 hour (full day) sessions, all of which are designed to promote learning outcomes within the National Curriculum from EYFS to KS5.

For details on our sessions for EYFS to KS5, please contact us at beeche@idverde.co.uk or on 01689 860571.

Prices are based on the cost of the instructor not per child, for prices and example sessions we lead see our brochure here: Schools & education programme 2021

We have a whole range of exciting public events throughout the year. Check out our events page for whats’ on now.

Woodland Explorers

Woodland Explorers is a toddler group running for over three years which provides a forest school experience for children age 18 months to school age. We explore the High Elms woods with activities such as bug hunting, mud painting, den building and more.

Birthday parties can be offered all year round (Pond dipping and Mini Beast parties can only be held March-October). We offer a variety of party packages suitable for various age ranges. A party consists of a 2 hour session led by instructors and half hour room hire after party for food and birthday cake (food is not included). Person organising the party can access the room half an hour before party to set up and decorate and have access to room for half an hour after to clear up (have use of room for a total of 3.5 hours).

Are you looking for an adventurous, outdoor birthday party? We can offer a bespoke, outdoor birthday party for your child featuring nature trails, pond dipping and a Mini Beasts safari.  The woodland is an excellent resource and your imagination is the limit!

We also offer tailored parties based around a theme such as woodland pirates, dinosaur adventures, magical quests, obstacle course building and scrap heap challenge! Find out more details on our Birthday Parties brochure.

If you wish to enquire about or book a Birthday Party please e-mail beeche@idverde.co.uk or phone 01689 860571 to discuss availability and the theme of your child’s party.
