SPORTS & RECREATION

We work in partnership with Bromley Council, Pro-Active Bromley and independent Delegated Sports Managers to help promote and deliver sport and recreation in parks across the borough.  The partnership aims to encourage healthy, active lifestyles and help sustain and increase participation in sport and physical activity in the London Borough of Bromley.

Delegated sports managers are local people operating sports clubs and running events. They lease pavilions and maintain and co-ordinate sports pitch and bowling green provision, at a local level, in the borough’s parks and greenspaces. Over 30 clubs and sports providers offer sport and recreation across more than 30 sites in the borough, including:

  • Football
  • Five-a-side
  • Rugby
  • American football
  • Athletics
  • Cricket
  • Tennis
  • Fishing
  • Walking
  • Golf/Mini golf/Pitch and putt
  • Fitness classes
  • Boot camps
  • Boxing

In addition, there are 9 lawn bowls clubs with separate greens in the parks.

If you would like to join a club, hire a pitch or make a booking, please contact the club or site manager.

We offer a wide-range of maintenance in support of the local site management, such as grass cutting, harrowing, spiking, setting out, initial marking, over marking, pesticide and fertiliser application.

We work with our delegated sports managers to help them fundraise to improve their facilities.

Free and Low-Cost Activities

We also work with our local partners and residents to create opportunities for informal sports and exercise in the parks and green spaces, by supporting and encouraging free or low-cost initiatives such as:
