Woodland Explorers Toddler Group at Crystal Palace Park




Session Outline

Woodland Explorers is back for the summer holidays. Our Woodlands Explorers group welcomes children from the ages of 2 to 5 to take part in our fun outdoor sessions. They are aimed at developing skills and resilience, testing boundaries and deepening understanding of the natural world. In these sessions we will be making wooden bracelets, playing treasure hunts,  making bird feeders – and more.

We will meet outside the visitor centre before 10am get ready to leave. We ask you to aim to arrive as promptly as possible – to be considerate to other participants – and also to be able to find the garden!  If you’ve been before and know where the secret garden is, feel free to meet us there.

Session Price

£5 per child

Where to Meet

Meet at the visitor centre up to 10 minutes before the start of the session. The visitor centre is located at the bottom of Crystal Palace Park near the Penge entrance, café and toilets.

If you know The Secret Garden feel free to meet us there from 10am. For access to toilet facilities, please use the public toilets next to the visitor centre before or after the session.

All equipment will be provided.

By train
The park is a short walk from Crystal Palace Station or Penge West Station.

By bus
Routes serving the park and its surrounding area include 3, 122, 157, 202, 227, 249, 322, 358, 363, 410, 417, 432, 450

By car
Free parking is available at the Thicket Road, Anerley Hill and Crystal Palace Park Road entrances to the park.

What to wear and other information

The session will take place outside so please wear appropriate clothing. Please wear boots, trainers or wellies (no ballet pumps or sandals).

The session will involve some walking, not all paths are suitable for buggies but they can be left in a gated area.
