Join us for a magical walk through High Elms Country Park to our stunning undiscovered wildflower meadow! Find flowers in all the colours of the rainbow, learn their names and search for the wonderful creatures that live in the grasses.
Recommended for confident walkers due to the 1.2 mile round trip walking to and from the meadow.

An adult must accompany children on this session, adults and babes in arms do not need to buy a ticket.
Where to meet
We will meet in the paddock ten minutes before the start time to get ready for session. We ask you to be considerate to other participants and aim to arrive as promptly as possible. ‘The Paddock’ is the fenced off area surrounded by bunting near the mansion grounds of High Elms Country Park. To get there from the main car park follow the path up the slope and bear right, you will see the paddock just past the public toilets & Eton fives court.
In adverse weather conditions, the Darwin room in the BEECHE building will be made available for participants to wait for the session to begin.
Directions and Parking
This event takes place in High Elms Country Park. The main car park is located on High Elms Road (near Shire Lane). You can follow the Brown Highway signs for High Elms Country Park.
If the main car park is full then exit the car park and turn left go down High Elms Road a further 200 metres and turn into the Golf Course Car Park, it is fine to park in this car park (for the meadow safari you may want to wait here and look out for the group as we’ll be walking past the golf car park on the way to the meadow).
Blue badge parking is available in front of the BEECHE building. To access this please access the park using the entrance off Shire Lane which is marked for deliveries and staff. At the cross roads turn left up the slope and you will see the BEECHE building at the top of the slope. Please be aware this entrance and car park is only for Blue Badge holders.
What to wear and other information
The majority of the session will take place outside and in grassland so please wear appropriate clothing ideally having legs and arms covered. Wear trainers or boots, not sandals or ballet pumps. Bring your own water, sun cream and sun hats as appropriate for the weather. This session involves walking off path and is not suitable for buggies.
